The Sefer Yetzirah is the oldest Kabbalistic text in existence. It describes how God created the world through thirty-two paths of wisdom, ten Sefirot and twenty-two Hebrew letters, in language that is deliberately difficult to interpret. This course works through the text in Hebrew and English with full commentary, examines the major historical interpretations from Saadia Gaon to the Vilna Gaon, and gives serious students the tools to engage with it directly rather than through someone else's summary.
The 72 Angels of the Shemhamephorash are derived from the seventy-two-letter name of God constructed from three verses in Exodus. The system is documented across the medieval Kabbalistic literature, the works of Cordovero, and the Lurianic synthesis. This course gives the practitioner a complete working system: twenty hours of structured Kabbalistic teaching, the historical and textual context for the seventy-two-fold Name, and seventy-two ritual meditations corresponding to specific life purposes.
